For over 30 years, CRAFT—the Center for Research on Fire and Earth Arts—has been a center of excellence dedicated to experimentation, innovation, and contemporary ceramic creation. Located in Limoges, a city renowned worldwide for its porcelain, CRAFT has welcomed internationally renowned artists, designers, and architects and has contributed to the realization of major projects in the history of contemporary ceramic creation.
The CRAFT collection, consisting of emblematic works resulting from these collaborations, is now a reference consulted by curators, institutions, and museums.
THE 2026 RESIDENCY: A CALL FOR VISIONARY PROJECTS
In 2026, CRAFT is inviting an international artist, designer, architect, collective, or studio to undertake an ambitious research and creation project.
The residency offers an exceptional setting for pushing the boundaries of ceramics, exploring new uses, and combining traditional know-how with contemporary innovation.
WHAT THE RESIDENCY OFFERS
– An exceptional setting: a 400 m² workshop equipped with molds, kilns, tools, and raw materials.
– Expert technical support: two permanent ceramics technicians specializing in contemporary innovation.
Enhanced financial support:
– Residency grant: €6,000 (including utilities).
– Production costs covered up to €3,000.
– Accommodation, travel, and one meal per day included.
International exposure:
– Public presentation of the project at CRAFT.
– Final exhibition and bilingual publication (FR/EN).
– International distribution (catalog, specialized press, video documentary).
Objectives of the residency:
– Explore new avenues of expression in ceramics and develop an original project.
– Combine innovation and traditional know-how.
– Create a work of international scope with a strong vision.
– Create a space for sharing and transmission with the region and its audiences.
IMPACT BEYOND THE RESIDENCY
The residency is part of a dynamic of transmission and international visibility:
– Meetings with cultural actors, institutions, and specialized schools.
– Conferences and workshops open to the general public and students.
– Publication of a bilingual residency notebook.
– Integration of the work into the CRAFT collection, consulted by museums, curators, and international galleries.
– Possibility of a traveling exhibition or presentation at an international partner event (biennial, design week, museum institution).

Eligibility requirements:
Open to professional artists, designers, architects, ceramists, and collectives from around the world.
